Cool Bad Religion Cover

Here's a great Bad Religion cover by Frank Turner, who I was very impressed by at Osheaga this past summer...too bad I only caught his last few songs. The song is "My Poor Friend Me" from Bad Religion's 1993 album Recipe for Hate. There is also an interesting cover of "Suffer" by Tegan and Sara.

Amazing Atoms for Peace footage

Finally some better than cell phone camera footage of Atoms for Peace the "super" group featuring Thom Yorke, Flea, Nigel Godrich (Radiohead Producer), Mauro Refosco, and Joey Waronker. These clips are taken from last months Fuji Rock Festival in Niigata, Japan. Hopefully we will someday get an album from these guys...but at least there is new Radiohead on the horizon. Sacha Baron Cohen to play Freddie Mercurry!

Yup it's true, Borat will play the Queen singer in an up coming feature film. This should be interesting. No director is attached as of yet but Academy Award winner Graham King (the Departed) is producing. (via Deadline)

Interesting new video from Philip Selway

What happens when you throw a cinder block off a tall building that is tied to your leg...maybe not what you'd expect. Here is the great video and song from Philip Selway (aka the drummer from Radiohead) directed by David Altobelli:

Cache Rules Everything Around Me

This a video made by Even Roth entirely of animated GIF's set to a large chunk of Girl Talk's Night Ripper album. Check it out...if you have ten minutes you'll never need again:

Yo Gabba Gabba! with the Roots

For those of you unfamiliar Yo Gabba Gabba! is a children's show on Treehouse TV that was created by Christian Jacobs, the singer for the Aquabats. The show often features hip bands and has become a cult show for many teens and collage students. They will be in Montreal this coming Sunday (Sept 5, 2010) @ Salle Wilfrid Pelletier with super music friend (and montréalais) Kid Koala.

Here they are on Jimmy Fallon last night with the Roots:
