Hey look who's back....

Peter, Bjorn and John are back to their old form after an instrumental detour and some solo projects. I read a while back that when they entered the studio that they were trying to write a punk record but after listening to playback they decided that they were still writing pop songs...well I can here the punk inspiration, but yes it's still pop.

Maybe we'll see them at Osheaga this summer, I figure they owe us one after canceling to attend the MTV video awards back in 2007.

oh and just so it can be stuck in your head again:

Braids Ablum Lanch Thursday night @ Sala Rosa

Be sure to get your ass to Sala on Thursday (Jan 20) night to check out the album release party for Montreal's (via Calgary) hottest up and coming act. They will be playing with two bands who are unknown to me Pop Winds and Long Long Long who are heading out on the road with Braids for their North American tour.

I still have not heard the entire album but I am really enjoying the 5 tracks that I have. They remind me of a more spaced out Warpaint. Check out a couple examples from Native Speaker below:

One of the better up and coming MTL bands

Check it out I just found these great videos of the Barr Brothers performing. Some of you may remember the singer and drummer Andrew and Brad Barr from the jam band the Slip out of Boston. Well the brothers have relocated to Montreal and started up this band with a harp and bass player.

I have seen them live on two occasions, once opening for the Low Anthem at the fantastic GESU and the other at a very intimate POP Montreal show @ L'envers (which was probably my favorite show of last year) and I highly recommend seeing them.

Crocodiles - Hearts of Love

First post of the new year, yeah I've been pretty fucking slack when it comes to this so far this year...but I'll get my ass back into shape, I promise.

Well, I like this video by San Diego's Crocodiles from their album "sleep forever" so that is why I post it. Enjoy:
